Rapid growth of global challenges is multidimensional and has been the current issue, which involves responses and reactions of all scholars including linguists and educators. To mention some, the aggressive progress in the field of technology, education, language, and science are the some core challenges to be covered. As the increased demand of the challenges from societies, language learning and education should remain contributive and relevant. Instead of being threatened, this should be regarded as the opportunities to develop valuable, flexible, and relevant language learning and education for societies to face global challenges.

Association of Language Teachers in Southeast Asia (ALTSA) initiates Annual International Conference on Language and Education (ICLE) as the platform of intellectual sharing on information and experiences pertaining to the trending issues in each era as well as to strengthen communication amongst faculty members, administrators, policy makers, researchers, and students at different layers of educational settings.
