Association of Language Teachers in Southeast Asia (ALTSA) is a body which accommodating all language teachers in Southeast Asia. It represents school language teachers, language faculty and staffers at colleges and universities, retired language educators, and university students preparing to become language teachers or lecturers.
The stated mission of the ALTSA is “to advocate for language learning professional and to unite our members in Southeast Asia area to fulfil the promise of language teaching to prepare every language learner to succeed in a diverse and global challenging.
The ALTSA was founded in Medan City, Indonesia. Prof. Amrin Saragih, M.A., Ph.D. and Dedi Sanjaya, S. Pd., M.A. (Applied Linguistics/TESOL) were selected to be the first President and General Secretary of ALTSA organization respectively.
